Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez met with License Plate Agency operators from across the county to strengthen collaboration, reinforce compliance, and establish a more direct line of communication between these locally operated businesses and the Tax Collector’s Office.

License Plate Agencies play an important role in providing motor vehicle services throughout Miami-Dade. Many are small businesses rooted in the communities they serve, including some that have operated locally for decades. Fernandez emphasized that strong oversight and strong communication should go hand in hand.

“Our License Plate Agencies are local businesses providing an important service to our residents every day,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “We want them to have a direct line to our office. When questions come up, when guidance is needed, or when there is uncertainty about compliance, they should know exactly where to turn.”

The meeting gave agency operators an opportunity to speak directly with Fernandez and his team, raise questions, discuss operational challenges, and identify ways to improve service while maintaining clear and consistent compliance standards.

Fernandez stressed that compliance is essential to protecting residents and maintaining confidence in the services provided across the county, while communication and access to guidance help ensure agencies can continue operating effectively.

“Across Miami-Dade, we all share a commitment to operating at the highest standards,” Fernandez added. “Collaboration strengthens that commitment by keeping communication open, expectations clear, and ensuring agencies have direct access to the information and guidance they need to serve residents effectively.”

The Tax Collector’s Office will continue maintaining open communication with License Plate Agencies, providing guidance when needed, and working with operators to address concerns, strengthen compliance, and improve service for Miami-Dade residents.
