Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office Recognizes Leadership and Service at U.S. Southern Command Change of Responsibility Ceremony

The Office of the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector was proud to be represented at the Change of Responsibility Ceremony at United States Southern Command Headquarters, marking the transition of responsibilities from Sergeant Major Rafael Rodriguez, United States Marine Corps, to Command Sergeant Major Raymond S. Harris, United States Army.

Representing the Tax Collector’s Office, Angel Zayon, Chief of Protocol and Director of Constituent Services, joined military leaders, service members, and guests for the ceremony and presented an Honorary Citation recognizing the leadership, service, and dedication represented by this important transition.

“The men and women who serve our nation deserve our deepest gratitude and respect,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “We are proud to have U.S. Southern Command as part of the Miami-Dade community and grateful for the service of those who dedicate their careers to protecting our country. I thank Sergeant Major Rodriguez for his leadership and wish Command Sergeant Major Harris continued success as he assumes this important responsibility.”

The ceremony provided an opportunity to recognize Sergeant Major Rodriguez for his service and leadership while welcoming Command Sergeant Major Harris into his new role. The Tax Collector’s Office values opportunities to recognize the members of the Armed Forces whose commitment, professionalism, and sacrifice represent the highest traditions of public service.

The Office of the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector congratulates Command Sergeant Major Raymond S. Harris and extends its appreciation to Sergeant Major Rafael Rodriguez for his distinguished service. The office also thanks U.S. Southern Command for its continued presence in Miami-Dade County and for the service of the men and women who carry out its mission every day.
