As part of the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s ongoing Pet of the Week initiative, Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez continues to highlight animals waiting for adoption and encourage residents to support local animal welfare efforts.

Each week, the campaign features two pets currently in the care of Miami-Dade Animal Services, helping connect residents with animals looking for a second chance and a loving home.

This week’s featured pets are Bruno (#A2557805), a sweet 5-year-old American Bulldog, and Badicadi (#A2811750), a friendly 2-year-old cat. Both are currently available for adoption and ready to meet their future families.

Bruno is a sweet American Bulldog with plenty of personality and affection to share. At five years old, he is hoping to find a loving family that will give him the care, companionship, and permanent home he deserves.

Badicadi is a friendly 2-year-old cat ready for a fresh start. With a young and social personality, Badicadi is looking for a home where there will be plenty of attention, comfort, and love.

Local shelters regularly care for dogs and cats that have been lost, abandoned, surrendered, or separated from their families. While they wait for placement, shelter teams provide food, medical treatment, behavioral support, enrichment, and daily care.

Adoption gives shelter pets a permanent home while also creating space and resources for other animals in need. Fostering is another valuable option, particularly for pets that may benefit from time outside the shelter before finding their permanent families.

Residents who are not ready to adopt or foster can still make a difference by volunteering, donating needed supplies, sharing the weekly featured pets, and encouraging friends and family to consider shelter adoption.

Through the Pet of the Week campaign, the Tax Collector’s Office hopes to give shelter animals greater visibility and help connect more of them with families across Miami-Dade County.

Residents can learn more about Bruno, Badicadi, and other available pets by scanning the QR codes included in the weekly graphics or by contacting Miami-Dade Animal Services.
