Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined members of his team at the FIU Foundation’s 2nd Annual Pig Roast Series at Pitbull Stadium, an event that brought together community leaders, supporters, and organizations for an evening of fellowship, friendly competition, and support for South Florida’s law enforcement community.
The Tax Collector’s team proudly participated in the event and was recognized with the Best Community Leaders Tasting Pig Champions award. Fernandez credited the recognition to the energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork of the employees who represented the office throughout the evening.
“Our team brings the same dedication and spirit to the community that they bring to serving Miami-Dade residents every day,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “I am incredibly proud of them, and winning this recognition made an already special evening even more memorable. Moments like these remind us that strong teams are built not only through the work we do, but also through the relationships we build together.”
Fernandez also highlighted the importance of supporting the men and women of law enforcement who dedicate their lives to protecting families and communities across South Florida. He noted that events like the Pig Roast Series create an opportunity to bring together public servants, community leaders, and residents while recognizing those who serve and protect.
Fernandez extended a special thank you to Florida International University and the FIU Foundation for organizing the event and for their continued commitment to bringing the community together. He also thanked everyone who helped make the 2nd Annual Pig Roast Series a success and congratulated the Tax Collector team for representing the office with pride, professionalism, and community spirit.
