Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez attended the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce’s 18th Annual George E. Merrick Award of Excellence, an event recognizing leadership, vision, and service to the Coral Gables community and its business sector.
This year’s award recognized Armando Codina, Executive Chairman of Codina Partners, for his leadership and contributions to the growth and development of the region. His work reflects the entrepreneurial spirit and long-term investment that have helped shape Coral Gables and strengthen Miami-Dade’s broader business community.
“Strong communities are built by people who are willing to invest, lead, and create opportunities for others,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “The George E. Merrick Award of Excellence recognizes that kind of leadership, and I congratulate Armando Codina on this well-deserved recognition and on the impact his work continues to have across our community.”
Fernandez also highlighted the important role chambers of commerce play in supporting entrepreneurs, strengthening local businesses, and creating opportunities for economic growth. He emphasized that maintaining a strong relationship between government and the business community is essential to creating an environment where businesses can succeed and continue investing in Miami-Dade.
