Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined Consul General Christofer Burger and members of the German-American community in Miami-Dade County to celebrate the Day of German Unity, commemorating Germany’s reunification and the values of freedom, democracy, and unity.
During the celebration, Fernandez presented Consul General Burger with an Honorary Citation in recognition of his leadership, his contributions to the community, and his commitment to strengthening the relationship between Germany and Miami-Dade County.
“The Day of German Unity is an opportunity to celebrate not only an important moment in Germany’s history, but also the values that continue to bring our communities together,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “It was an honor to recognize Consul General Burger for his leadership and for his continued efforts to strengthen the ties between Germany and Miami-Dade.”
Fernandez also highlighted the contributions of the German-American community to the cultural, economic, and civic life of Miami-Dade County. He emphasized that maintaining strong relationships with the diverse communities that call Miami-Dade home is an important part of building greater cooperation and creating new opportunities.
Fernandez congratulated the German-American community on the Day of German Unity and thanked Consul General Christofer Burger for his continued leadership and service. He reaffirmed his commitment to recognizing the communities that contribute to Miami-Dade and to strengthening relationships that bring residents, institutions, and local leaders together.
