Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez participated in the Miami Community News Miami-Dade Small Business & Local Economy Summit at the South Dade YMCA Family Center, joining business owners, community leaders, and local stakeholders for a conversation focused on the challenges and opportunities facing Miami-Dade’s small business community.
The summit provided an opportunity to hear directly from entrepreneurs about the issues affecting their businesses, from operating costs and government processes to the need for accessible information and efficient public services. Fernandez emphasized that small businesses remain a critical part of Miami-Dade’s economy, creating jobs, supporting families, and investing directly in the neighborhoods they serve.
“As your Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I believe one of the most important things we can do is listen directly to the people who are building businesses and creating opportunities in our community,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Small business owners understand firsthand what is working, what is creating unnecessary obstacles, and where government can do better. Those conversations help us continue improving the way we serve them.”
Fernandez also highlighted the Tax Collector’s responsibility to maintain clear and efficient processes for businesses throughout the county. As the office responsible for Local Business Tax Receipts, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office works directly with entrepreneurs and remains committed to making government services more accessible, responsive, and easier to navigate.
Fernandez thanked Miami Community News, the South Dade YMCA Family Center, and the business and community leaders who participated in the summit. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the entrepreneurs whose hard work, investment, and determination continue to strengthen Miami-Dade County.
