Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez attended Giralda in Bloom in Coral Gables, an initiative that transformed Giralda Plaza into a vibrant destination for residents, families, and visitors while creating additional opportunities for the restaurants, shops, and small businesses that make the area unique.
Events and public-space initiatives like Giralda in Bloom can have an important impact beyond the experience itself. By attracting visitors and increasing activity in commercial areas, they generate additional foot traffic for nearby businesses and introduce residents to local restaurants and shops they may return to throughout the year.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. They create jobs, support families, and give every city and neighborhood its own identity,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Giralda in Bloom is a great example of how creating an inviting public space can also encourage people to visit local businesses and support the entrepreneurs who invest in our community.”
Fernandez emphasized the importance of supporting locally owned businesses throughout Miami-Dade County. As the office responsible for Local Business Tax Receipts, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office works directly with thousands of businesses and entrepreneurs and remains committed to providing efficient and accessible service to the business community.
Fernandez congratulated the City of Coral Gables on Giralda in Bloom and thanked everyone involved in bringing the initiative to life. He also encouraged residents to continue supporting local restaurants, shops, and entrepreneurs whose investments create jobs and contribute to Miami-Dade’s economy.
