Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined members of the Jewish community at Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center in observance of Yom Kippur, one of the most sacred days of the Jewish calendar. The gathering offered a meaningful moment of prayer, reflection, forgiveness, and renewal alongside families and community members.

Yom Kippur is a solemn occasion centered on reflection and reconciliation, providing an opportunity to look inward, seek forgiveness, and begin the year with renewed purpose. Fernandez expressed his appreciation for being welcomed into the congregation and for the opportunity to share such an important moment with members of Miami-Dade’s Jewish community.

“It was an honor to spend this sacred day with members of our Jewish community,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Yom Kippur reminds us of the importance of reflection, forgiveness, and beginning again with purpose. These are values that speak to all of us and strengthen the bonds that hold our community together.”

Fernandez also highlighted the importance of respecting and recognizing the many faith traditions that form part of Miami-Dade County. He noted that taking part in important community observances helps strengthen mutual understanding and reinforces the value of remaining connected to the people the office serves.

Fernandez thanked Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center and its congregation for the warm welcome and extended his wishes for peace, strength, and blessings to families observing the holiday. G’mar Chatima Tova, may all be sealed in the Book of Life for a good year.
