Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined The Children’s Trust and its President & CEO, James R. Haj, for a special reception recognizing Rafael A. Villalobos and a new chapter of leadership for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The gathering brought together leaders from education, government, and the community around a shared focus on the future of Miami-Dade’s children and families.
Villalobos began serving as Superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools in September after being selected by the School Board earlier this year. His career with the district spans more than three decades, beginning as a teacher and later including service as a principal and South Region Superintendent.
“Supporting our children and families takes all of us working together,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Strong relationships between our schools, community organizations, local leaders, and families help create more opportunities for students and strengthen Miami-Dade for generations to come. I congratulate Superintendent Villalobos as he begins this new chapter of leadership.”
Fernandez also recognized The Children’s Trust for its continued work on behalf of children and families across Miami-Dade. Led by President & CEO James R. Haj, the organization works with community groups and public institutions on programs and initiatives designed to support young people and strengthen families throughout the county.
Fernandez thanked James R. Haj and The Children’s Trust for the invitation and for bringing community leaders together for the occasion. He also congratulated Superintendent Villalobos and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among schools, families, community organizations, and local institutions as Miami-Dade looks toward the future.
