Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez announced today that his administration has revoked the Local Business Tax Receipt (“BTR”) issued to Lux Sky Cargo, INC.
The action follows a referral received from federal law-enforcement agencies indicating that Lux Sky Cargo, INC is conducting business with ENETEC S.A., an entity sanctioned by the United States Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) on July 11, 2026, based on its nexus to the Cuban government.
The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector administers and collects Local Business Taxes within Miami-Dade County pursuant to Chapter 205, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 8A, Article IX of the Miami-Dade County Code. The County Code requires the Office to revoke or refuse to renew a Local Business Tax Receipt when an individual, business, or other entity conducts business with Cuba in violation of federal law.
Based on the information received from federal law-enforcement agencies, the administration has revoked Lux Sky Cargo INC's Local Business Tax Receipt, effective immediately.
“Federal law-enforcement agencies provided our office with information indicating that Lux Sky Cargo INC is conducting business with ENETEC S.A., an entity sanctioned by the United States,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Based on that information and the authority provided to this office under state and local law, our administration has revoked the company’s Local Business Tax Receipt.”
Fernandez emphasized that businesses operating in Miami-Dade County are expected to comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
“This administration will continue to exercise its authority to administer Local Business Tax Receipts and to act when information received indicates that a business may be operating in violation of applicable law,” Fernandez said.
