Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez issued the following statement regarding the aircraft incident at Miami International Airport:
"My heart is with the families who lost loved ones, those who were injured, and everyone affected by this tragedy.
I am grateful to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, airport personnel, and every first responder who acted swiftly and continues to support the recovery efforts.
We are following the National Transportation Safety Board's investigation closely and appreciate the coordinated work of the local, state, and federal agencies involved as they gather the facts.
If any affected family needs help navigating county services in the days ahead, my office stands ready to assist however we can. We will continue to keep the victims, their families, and all those recovering in our thoughts and prayers."
