Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez welcomed Hialeah Chamber of Commerce Chairman Mandy Llanes to the Tax Collector’s Office for a conversation focused on strengthening the relationship with the local business community and improving the way entrepreneurs interact with government.
The discussion was particularly important because the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office administers Local Business Tax Receipts, one of the first requirements for many businesses legally operating in Miami-Dade County. Maintaining close communication with chambers of commerce provides the office with direct insight into the experiences, questions, and challenges faced by business owners.
“As your Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I want entrepreneurs to know that government should help them understand the process, not make it unnecessarily difficult,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Small businesses create jobs, support families, and invest directly in our neighborhoods. Maintaining an open dialogue with organizations like the Hialeah Chamber helps us understand what business owners are experiencing and where we can improve.”
Fernandez emphasized that supporting entrepreneurship also means providing clear information and efficient service. The Tax Collector’s Office continues working to improve how residents and businesses access information and complete transactions, while ensuring entrepreneurs understand the requirements associated with operating a business in Miami-Dade County.
Fernandez thanked Chairman Mandy Llanes for visiting the office and for his leadership within Hialeah’s business community. He expressed his commitment to continuing the conversation with the Chamber and working together to support the businesses and entrepreneurs helping drive Miami-Dade’s economy.
