Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined the City of Miami Beach and members of the community to honor the victims of the October 7 attack on Israel and stand in solidarity with the Jewish community.
The gathering served as a solemn moment of remembrance for the innocent lives lost, the survivors, and the families whose lives were forever changed. Fernandez emphasized the importance of continuing to remember the victims and ensuring that their stories are never forgotten.
“We remember the lives that were taken, the families forever affected, and the pain that continues to be carried by so many,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Their memory reminds us of our responsibility to stand together against hatred and antisemitism and to defend the dignity of every human life.”
Fernandez reaffirmed that antisemitism and hatred have no place in Miami-Dade County. He noted that moments of remembrance also provide an opportunity for communities to come together in solidarity, support those who continue to grieve, and renew a shared commitment to peace, dignity, and humanity.
Fernandez thanked the City of Miami Beach for bringing the community together to honor the victims and stand alongside the Jewish community. He joined those in attendance in remembering the lives lost and reaffirming that their memory will continue to inspire unity, compassion, and hope.
