Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez met with Florida City Mayor Charlotte Thompson to discuss opportunities for continued collaboration and ways to better serve residents in one of the southernmost communities of Miami-Dade County. The meeting focused on maintaining strong communication between the Tax Collector’s Office and Florida City while identifying opportunities to make essential government services more accessible and convenient for local families.
As the Tax Collector’s Office continues expanding access to services throughout Miami-Dade, coordination with municipal leaders remains an important part of understanding the needs of each community. Conversations with local officials help the office identify where additional outreach, information, and service opportunities may be most beneficial to residents.
“Every community in Miami-Dade has unique needs, and the best way to understand those needs is to stay connected with the people and leaders who know their communities best,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “It was a pleasure meeting with Mayor Charlotte Thompson and discussing how we can continue working together to better serve Florida City residents. Our goal is simple: make government services easier to access and bring them closer to the people who depend on them.”
Fernandez also highlighted the Tax Collector’s continued efforts to expand community access through initiatives such as the TConnect Mobile Tax Collector Office, outreach events, and additional service options throughout Miami-Dade County. By working directly with municipalities, the office can create more opportunities for residents to receive information, ask questions, and connect with Tax Collector services closer to home.
Fernandez thanked Mayor Charlotte Thompson and the City of Florida City for the productive conversation and their commitment to serving the community. He looks forward to continuing the partnership and identifying new opportunities to provide residents throughout South Miami-Dade with efficient, accessible, and responsive public service.
