Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Recognizes Dr. Jose L. Dotres for Years of Leadership and Service to Miami-Dade Public Schools

Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined community and education leaders at the Freedom Tower for a special celebration recognizing Dr. Jose L. Dotres for his years of leadership, service, and dedication to Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Throughout his career in public education, Dr. Dotres has dedicated himself to supporting students, teachers, families, and the broader school community. Fernandez recognized his years of service and the lasting impact his leadership has had on Miami-Dade’s public school system.

“Public education plays an essential role in the future of our community, and that work depends on people who dedicate their careers to serving our students and supporting our teachers,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “It was an honor to recognize Dr. Dotres and thank him for his many years of leadership and commitment to Miami-Dade County Public Schools.”

Fernandez also emphasized the importance of recognizing public servants whose careers have helped strengthen the institutions that serve Miami-Dade families. He wished Dr. Dotres continued success as he begins the next chapter of his professional journey.

Fernandez thanked Miami Dade College and President Madeline Pumariega for hosting the celebration at the historic Freedom Tower and for bringing the community together to recognize Dr. Dotres. He extended his congratulations and wished Dr. Dotres the very best in all his future endeavors.
