Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez visited PepsiCo’s distribution facility in Medley to learn more about the people, operations, and investment behind one of the companies contributing to Miami-Dade’s local economy. The visit provided an opportunity to see firsthand how the facility supports jobs, distribution, and day-to-day economic activity throughout South Florida.
During the tour, Fernandez met with PepsiCo representatives and discussed the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between government and the business community. Companies that invest in Miami-Dade help create employment opportunities, support local families, and contribute to the broader network of businesses that keeps the county’s economy moving.
“As your Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I believe it is important to stay connected with the businesses that invest, create jobs, and help our communities grow,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Visiting facilities like this gives us a better understanding of the work happening behind the scenes and helps us continue looking for ways government can better support the people and businesses that contribute to our economy.”
Fernandez also emphasized that supporting economic growth means providing businesses with efficient, responsive government services. As the office responsible for Local Business Tax Receipts, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office works directly with businesses throughout the county and remains committed to making those interactions as clear and efficient as possible.
Fernandez thanked Katharine Cue-Fuente, Rafael Villegas, and the PepsiCo team for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to learn more about their operation. He reaffirmed his commitment to staying engaged with Miami-Dade’s business community and supporting the companies and employees who help strengthen the local economy.
