Learn when a Power of Attorney may be used to complete vehicle title and registration transactions on your behalf.

A Power of Attorney (POA) allows you to authorize another person to act on your behalf when completing certain vehicle title and registration transactions. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides the Power of Attorney for a Motor Vehicle, Mobile Home, or Vessel (Form HSMV 82053)for this purpose.

Please note: A Power of Attorney cannot be used to process a Fast Title. However, it may be accepted for electronically filed titles that have never been printed. In those cases, customers must also submit an Authorization/Release Affidavit.
