Learn about recreational hunting and fishing license exemptions available to Florida residents age 65 and older.

Florida residents age 65 or older only need a valid Florida driver license or Florida identification card to verify their residency and age. They are not required to purchase the following recreational licenses and permits:

  • Saltwater Fishing License
  • Freshwater Fishing License
  • Hunting License
  • Snook Permit
  • Lobster Permit
  • Deer Permit
  • Wildlife Management Area Permit
  • Muzzleloading Gun Permit
  • Turkey Permit
  • Archery Permit
  • Crossbow Permit
  • Florida Waterfowl Permit
  • Migratory Bird Permit

The Resident 65+ Hunt/Fish Certificate is available at no cost online through GoOutdoorsFlorida.comor in person at our Public Service Office. Although the certificate is available, it is not required. Resident seniors should carry proof of age and residency while participating in hunting or fishing activities.

*Important: This exemption does not apply to the Federal Duck Stamp or the Tarpon Tag.
